GROUP-ANALYTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY
I am passionate about the opportunities offered by group
psychotherapy. I see it as an alternative to individual
therapy, although some people choose to do both. Group
psychotherapy offers unique possibilities and challenges
and is generally more economical than working individually.
I have conducted an ongoing psychotherapy group on
Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm in Grey Lynn, Auckland,
New Zealand since May 2007. I plan to start another group,
meeting twice a week on Monday and Thursday evenings from
6:00 to 7:30pm;
The groups are “slow-open”, so it is not possible to join
or leave from 15th October to 15th March. At other times
newcomers commit to a minimum of four months, and when
someone decides to leave they are asked to attend a minimum
of four further meetings. Please be aware the joining
process takes about a month from first contact.
Admission to the groups is by individual interview and they
are limited to eight participants. All the groups are mixed
with a balance of both genders. The cost is $140 per month
by automatic payment.
