GROUP-ANALYTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY

I am passionate about the opportunities offered by group psychotherapy. I see it as an alternative to individual therapy, although some people choose to do both. Group psychotherapy offers unique possibilities and challenges and is generally more economical than working individually.

I conduct two ongoing psychotherapy groups in Grey Lynn, Auckland. The group on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 pm has been meeting since May 2007. The other group started this year (2010) and meets on a Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.

The groups are “slow-open”, so it is not possible to join or leave from 15th October to 15th March. At other times newcomers commit to a minimum of fifteen evenings, and when someone decides to leave they are asked to come four more times. Please be aware the joining process takes about a month from first contact.

Admission to the groups is by individual interview and they are limited to eight participants. All the groups are mixed with a balance of both genders. The cost is $140 per month by automatic payment.
